Join MSO for our season opener concert for our “Destination: MSO” 2019|2020 season. We’ll begin with a preconcert talk by Blue Earth County Historical Society. Costumed characters from the Betsy-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace will bring Mankato history to life. This concert premieres a musical selection from the Betsy-Tacy songbook, composed by resident artist Benji Inniger. Closing out the first half is Vivaldi’s Concerto for Cello and Violin, featuring youth concerto competition winners Katharine and Karl Davis. In the second half, Brahms’ celebrated Symphony No. 2 in D Major will transport the audience to a cheerful and jubilant feeling of summer holiday, a fitting end to our celebration of Mankato and classical music.
